The Northeast Orchestra is seeking musicians with experience at the high school level and beyond.
We currently have openings in all string sections, as well as limited open positions in the wind, brass and percussion sections.
There are also openings on our substitute list to fill occasional needs for additional instruments and vacancies due to absence.
The Northeast Orchestra rehearses from 7–9 p.m. on most Monday evenings during its concert season, with a dress rehearsal from 7–9:30 p.m. on the Thursday evening before each Friday concert performance. Download the NEO Attendance Policies and Rehearsal Schedule (PDF).
If you are interested in joining the Northeast Orchestra, complete the online New Member Application Form. Following submission, you will receive a follow-up email with information about audition times and other specifics.
Auditions can be scheduled throughout the concert season, based on open positions.
Audition requirements for regular open positions and substitutes include a short solo excerpt and two orchestral excerpts in contrasting styles.
In addition, strings are asked to prepare a 3-octave scale, and all applicants may be asked to sight-read.
