2025 NEO Young Artist Competition

The Northeast Orchestra sponsors a Young Artist Competition each concert season for the purpose of fostering and recognizing high school musical talent.

The first place winner is awarded a $500 cash scholarship and will be invited to perform as featured soloist in the Northeast Orchestra’s concert scheduled for May 16, 2025.

Entrance Qualifications

• Students in grades 9–12 who are residents of the DFW Metropolitan area, and who perform on string, woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments, or with voice are eligible to apply to audition.
• Repertoire considered for performance with the orchestra may be one or more movements of any standard concerto, a single-movement work, or multiple movements of a suite. 
• Vocalists may choose one or two selections of contrasting style. 
• Total performance time may not exceed 15 minutes.

Young Artist Competition live auditions will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas.

Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, March 7, 2025.
