NEO Young Artist Competition

Each concert season, the Northeast Orchestra is pleased to sponsor a Young Artist Competition for the purpose of fostering musical talent among high school students of music in Tarrant County.  

The first-place winner will be awarded a $500 cash scholarship and be invited to perform as a featured soloist in the Northeast Orchestra’s concert on April 3, 2020.

Entrance Qualifications:

  • Students in grades 9–12 who are residents of Tarrant County, Texas, and who perform on piano, string, woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments  or with voice.
  • Repertoire considered for performance with the orchestra may be one or more movements of any standard concerto, a single-movement work, or multiple movements of a suite. 
  • Vocalists may choose one or two selections of contrasting style. 
  • Total performance time may not exceed 15 minutes.

Young Artist Competition live auditions will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Peace Lutheran Church, Texas.

Applications must be submitted no later than January 17, 2020.
