NEO Young Artist Competition

Each concert season, the Northeast Orchestra is pleased to sponsor a Young Artist Competition for the purpose of fostering musical talent among high school students of music in Tarrant County.  


The first-place winner will be awarded a $500 cash scholarship and be invited to perform as a featured soloist with the Northeast Orchestra.


Entrance Qualifications:

  • Students in grades 9–12 who are residents of Tarrant County, Texas, and who perform on piano, string, woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments  or with voice.
  • Repertoire considered for performance with the orchestra may be one or more movements of any standard concerto, a single-movement work, or multiple movements of a suite. 
  • Vocalists may choose one or two selections of contrasting style. 
  • Total performance time may not exceed 15 minutes.


The Young Artist Competition live audition date for 2021 will be announced.


Application submission deadline is to be determined.
